Giant Knit Blanket 11/18
Learn how to make a dreamy super thick and cozy knit blanket out of wool roving, plus tips and techniques for caring for these blankets. No knitting experience required! Knit and crochet designer Cara Corey will show you how to use a "table knitting" technique, forming the stitches with your hands rather than using knitting needles.
In this class you will also learn:
• How to source additional wool roving
• Where to buy giant knitting needles (if you decide you want them) and how to make your own giant needles out of PVC pipe
• How to graft ends together by needle felting
• How to care for the wool, and use felting to prevent it from fuzzing too much
The yarn we provide is enough wool roving to make a blanket approximately 30x50 inches in size with a lot of stretch. The undyed yarn is a light cream color. If you choose the dyed yarn option, please choose a color from the swatch provided in the photos and let us know which one you want when you check out. The deadline for choosing a color is Nov. 8. After that you can still purchase the undyed wool option, or purchase the dyed option and choose from what the instructor has the day of the class. If you are allergic to wool, email firstname.lastname@example.org to find out about acrylic options.
Sunday, Nov. 18 from 2-5 p.m.
333 Caledonia St., Sausalito
Cost: $180 class with undyed yarn / $195 for class with dyed yarn
Limit: 6 students
