Class description
Join knit and crochet designer Cara Corey for an online workshop where you will create your own storage basket with soft cotton rope and optional leather handles. No crochet experience is required, as you will learn to make the stitches with your hands rather than a crochet hook. First you will learn to make a round bottom, then build the sides of the basket with a different stitch. Finish with a basket approximately 10 inches wide and 8 inches tall, and learn how to adjust the size and shape of the pattern to make more baskets.
A kit will be mailed to you, including
• 40 yards of soft cotton rope
• Leather handles
• Chicago screws to attach handles
• Rope patch
• Printed instructions
Materials/tools you will need to have on-hand: Scissors, clear tape
Techniques
Hand crochet without a hook, using rope instead of yarn.

About the instructor
Knit and crochet designer Cara Corey has taught DIY workshops all over the Bay Area. She specializes in simple, modern designs that are great for beginners, and believes the best knit and crochet projects are the ones you can finish. She recently relocated to St. Paul, Minnesota, where she teaches online classes and sells project kits.
